Doctoring Words - Dr. Michael Fine and Dr. Ed Iannuccilli

Eminent Rhode Island physicians Dr. Michael Fine and Dr. Ed Iannuccilli present "Doctoring Words: Physicians Journeys as Doctors and Authors." Both doctors will sign copies of their books, including Dr. Fine's latest, On Medicine as Colonialism.

Michael Fine, MD, is a writer, community organizer, and family physician. He is the chief health strategist for the City of Central Falls, RI, and a former Director of the Rhode Island Department of Health, 2011–2015. He is currently the Board Vice Chair and Co-Founder of the Scituate Health Alliance. He is the recipient of the Barbara Starfield Award, the John Cunningham Award, and the June Rockwell Levy Public Service Award.

Dr. Ed Iannuccilli, a retired gastroenterologist, graduated from Providence College and Albany Medical College. He served as Chair of the Rhode Island Hospital Board of Trustees and is a Clinical Professor Emeritus at Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. Currently a staff writer for GoLocalProv, in addition to authoring medical articles, he has written books on stories of his childhood, including Growing up Italian; Grandfather’s Fig Tree and Other Stories; What Ever Happened to Sunday Dinner; and My Story Continues, From Neighborhood to Junior High School.
