Description

Nutrimetabonomics offers insight into the effects of diet and nutrition on humans by measuring and mathematically modelling changes in the levels of products of metabolism found in human fluids and tissues. This book covers the whole process, from experiment design to data analysis and interpretation. Written by world experts in the field, it will appeal to those looking to gain an understanding of the technique and its practical aspects, from food scientists to biochemists.

About the Author

Sandrine Claus is Associate Professor in Integrative Metabolism at the University of Reading and Honorary Lecturer at Imperial College London. She obtained her PhD in Biochemistry at Imperial College London, where she started to study host-gut microbiota metabolic interplays using a metabonomics approach. Her research focuses on understanding the biological mechanisms underpinning the relationship between gut microbial ecology and host metabolism in health and disease. She is associate editor for the journal Microbial Ecology in Health and Disease.
